Charity Work

Charity work has always been a very important part of the work the School Council chooses to do and we support many different charities throughout the year. The School Council chooses different local charities to support each year at regular times in the school year such as Rochdale Foodbank and Springhill Hospice. Our 2023 Foodbank collection was as part of our Harvest Festival last month and we received many generous donations that will be donated to the Rochdale Foodbank this year.

This year, inspired by a family within our school and a charity that has helped them called Millie's Smiles, a new charity day called Superhero day was the second big charity event of the school calendar, raising money and awareness of the invaluable work charities do to support the families of children facing cancer.

Just before lockdown last year in March 2020, we sold boxes and boxes of Gingerbread socks and came to school in odd socks to celebrate World Down Syndrome, thanks to your wonderful support and generosity we were able to raise £490 for DSWest Pennine and hope to sell them again in March of next year as everything is steadily getting back to normal.

We would like to say thank you for all your continued support with all our chosen charities, we are always so thankful for your generosity and are looking forward to supporting some charities once we are all back in school to keep making a difference to children and families in our local area.

Upcoming Charity Events

Wear it Pink Day Friday 20th October 2023

This year's Wear It Pink day is on Friday 20th October, we are asking children and staff to come into school in pink non-uniform or anything you like in return for a donation to the Littleborough Wear It Pink charity. We will also be having an extended play time so we can sell lots of yummy snacks such as toast, biscuits and cakes. If you would like to buy some of these snacks, please try and bring small change, as snacks will cost between 20 and 50p.

We all had a brilliant and fun day turning Holy Trinity pink for the day, doing art work and eating yummy playtime snacks too! Thank you to all our children, families and staff for raising a wonderful £270 that will go towards the total funds raised in the community via the LittlePinkborough charity collections.

A massive congratulations to Tia, Henry D, Luca and Martha from Year 5 who have done their bake sale for the Turkey and Syria disaster fund and raised an absolutely fantastic £148, which brings our total monies raised combined with our non-uniform day to close to £1,000! We are unbelievably proud of these children who are a shining example of Holy Trinity children in showing compassion to others. Well done! Thank you to all parents and children who supported this event, we really appreciate your generosity!

365 for 999

On Thursday 18th November 2022, children joined forces with the local fire station to finish their year of fundraising for various charities including Children in Need. The fire fighters have been running a mile every day for a year and our KS2 children joined them in their last mile and all children came to school dressed up as members of the emergency services. Once again, your generosity has surpassed our expectations with us raising a phenomenal £350 for the charity which help them exceed their original target of £7500, and they raised an amazing £7720 altogether!

Check out their Justgiving page here if you would like to donate:
