Friends of Holy Trinity (FoHT)
Friends of Holy Trinity (FOHT) is made up of parents, grandparents and teachers, who work together to raise extra funds to support school and reward the pupils.
We host events throughout the year, which are as much about bringing our school community together to have fun as it is fundraising. This year alone we’ve enjoyed Christmas and summer fairs, school discos and a Ladies Evening, while also organising Mothers and Fathers Day gift rooms for the children.
We supplement these fundraisers with activities such as personalised Christmas cards and Bags2School collections.
The pot of money we raise is then used in two ways:-
- We contribute to the funding of school resources. For instance, we have recently made a substantial donation to the work on the new school library and bought some weatherproof jackets for the sports teams.
- We arrange treats for the children such as Christmas and Easter gifts, while also funding Bibles and branded water bottles to welcome our reception pupils.
We are always on the look out for new ideas and extra pairs of hands, so if you would be interested in volunteering, please head to the ‘Get Involved’ section.
Friends of Holy Trinity
1 November, 7 – 8pm in school
Any interested parent or grandparent is more than welcome to join us at this meeting to discuss the planning of the Christmas Fair.
NB Our meetings are normally on a Wednesday but we’ve temporarily shifted to Thursday this time to avoid clashing with any Trick or Treating activities.
A great opportunity to give your wardrobes and laundry cupboards a good clear out while helping raise funds for school. A special collection bag will be going out before half term ready for you to recycle all your old clothes and bedding.
1 December, 12 – 2pm
Kick off your Christmas in style with our biggest event of the year. Complete with Santa’s Grotto, traditional games and tombolas, homemade gifts, indulgent treats and a fine selection of present ideas from local Littleborough businesses, the Fair is the perfect way to get you in the festive spirit.
Getting involved with the FOHT can take as much or as little time as you’ve got to spare – please don’t feel that offering to man a stall at the Christmas Fair means you’ll be hounded to join committees and support every event until your child leaves school!
We’re all busy parents too so know how difficult it is to juggle work, childcare and life in general, so genuinely any help you can offer will always be very gratefully received. Here are some of the ways you can help make a difference:-
Join FoHT and attend meetings...
We hold meetings every half term - usually on a Wednesday between 7pm and 8pm, in school – to discuss upcoming events and how to make them as successful as possible. We are a friendly bunch and welcome anyone who wants to get involved. We are always looking for new ideas of how to raise money and how best to use it to benefit the children. Look out for your text reminder with the details of the next meeting.
Volunteer at an event
FoHT is a relatively small group of people and without the support of parents, grandparents and teachers, some events simply could not go ahead. This year we will be sending round regular request for volunteers in the lead up to events. If you think you could spare a couple of hours to help out on the day then please do shout.
Help with Resources
Do get in touch if you’ve got any skills or supplies that could help us raise money for the school. For instance, we will always very much welcome the services of face painters or cake bakers; or anyone who can help print posters or supply raffle prizes. The less we spend on putting events together the more can be put into school.
Come to an Event
We try to hold events throughout the year that are enjoyable for all the family. Come along and have some fun, as well as raising essential funds that benefit each child at Holy Trinity.
You can either contact us through the school office; find us on Facebook - Friends of Holytrinity primary littleborough or email us at:- email@example.com
